Ditch Sirius?

While I'm reasonably pleased with Sirius, I would much prefer to have XM. Does anyone know if you can replace the factory installed Sirirus module with a XM module? I can't imagine the control features are that different since just about everything runs off of the CD changer (AUX) input anyway. I loathe the idea of having an external controller ... it's a point of pride. Anyway, if you've been able to pull this off, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks,
-Walt_Mink

my xm was great in my 2nd gen,, somehow icant get rid of the static in the 3rd , everyone seems to have this problem, seems it doesnt matter sirus or xm, Im thinkin of changing to sirus for 2 reasons, one i want to get the gps nav system for the ram ( has sirus in it) and now xm is 13 a month too just like sirus. So its a winwin. get rid of the external control get gps and see if i can get lost in the desert with my boat too :P ( durago commercial)

I have the Sirius radio in my 03 and don't have any problems with static. Except for not having the info(title, artist, etc.) read out across my radio face, I love the Sirius setup. I would much rather have NFL and NHL(if they play again) than MLB. It is nice to go camping and just turn on the radio and listen to the football game.

Well, it's mainly baseball. I live way out here on the left coast and don't get to listen to the Cardinals play too much, so it'd be great for that. Also, I have weird taste in music and XM has a channel that suites me better. But mostly, it's for baseball.

I know, I know, but the cab already reaks like potporri and the pink seatcovers are on, so I figure I'll take a break from that. I'm a nerd for a living, so I guess I'll just give this a crack on my own and maybe hack out an adapter ... wont be pretty, but then again, none of my stuff ever is.

To all you guys with the external sat controllers. Are you using the fm modulator on your sat? If so check out http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piechry02aux.html they make a great interface that basicly plugs into your cd changer port on the back of your radio and that gives you a set of auxilary inputs to plug your sat radio into. The result is crystal clear musinc through your radio and no static.

some of the XM channels play songs that are older than i like to listen to. Stations like Kiss XM and Mix should play new songs, not songs from like 2002 and 2003. I like that Sirius always has good songs from recent

My wife has been pleased so far with Sirius. My buds have XM in their trucks and tell you the truth, I can't tell the difference between the two if just listening to music.
