Cracked an injector

What would cause a cracked injector? I had my smarty on my truck for a few weeks. Kept noticing a fuel smell when it was hooked up. Turns out I had a cracked injector which was filling up my crankcase. Would the smarty have caused this? And if so, whats the best way to avoid this happening again?

What version of the smarty are you running? What rail pressure setting? If set to high it could cause an injector to crack.

It depends on the rail pressure setting. it is recommended to leave the rail pressure on the stock setting unless you are at the track.

The Smarty probably helped, but you may have had a worn injector already.

high injection pressures crack the bodies. Edge, and other modules that increase the rail presssure do the same. seen it several times. Be careful as the turbo bearings wont last long with thined out oil.

Time to put in a call to Don M. He doesn't deal in BS and from what I have read, he will take care of you. I plan to use the man when my injectors go south.

J the site is Formula 1 Diesel. You need to look on the site for the vendors page and contact a vendor. They will take care of you, good luck.

DDP and F1 are great! I also use injectors from the guy who builds the remans for Dodge. He has a Bosch certified bench and his work is outstanding. Industrial Injection is another good choice.
