cracked injector and now popped presure relief valve??
I cracked an injector a few weeks ago and now am getting a pressure relief valve put in. I asked the diesel tech if my programmer is causing these problems and he told me that it probably is. I asked why I haven't heard of anybody else with the same type of problems as mine and he said it is probably because I tow with mine all the time so I am seeing the substained max pressure from the pump more than most. So I am wondering if I should get rid of the box or if I could get quad to reprogram it for less pressure. I don't want to keep replacing parts because of my box. I will remove it if I have to but it is nice to have the little extra power I get from it. Also does anybody know what pressure the xzt box it pushing. I was told 25k was stock and mine is running about 20k since the valve is bad and I am bleeding off the extra pressure.

I've had two cracked injectors from my box. One at 25k and one at 55k. I'm kind of in the same boat. I run the Volumizer and know it is causing this problem so I was looking at the Quad XZT for something less as I pull only a bumper trailer but 4 or 5 times a week. But if it causes the same problem i'm not sure what to do. I would love to have some more power but i'm not sure if it is a good idea anymore.

I think he is calling the Quad box a programmer.
If you are thinking that the pressure boxes are causing these problems then why don't you go with something like the Juice for timing and duration only. Then you get the benefits but without extra pressure.
I realize there are different benefits to each which is why I stack them but I only run my EZ on level 1 for the bottom end and fuel mileage and then the Juice on whatever level I want for the circumstance. Best of both worlds I guess.

sorry it took so long for the responce. but here goes.... My symptoms of the injector cracked were like CANTFINDANAME said my fuel was going very fast!!!! And I checked my oil to find it about 2 gallons high and literally running out of the breather hose. I had fuel/oil from the front axle all the way to the taillights of my 45' trailer like I had hit a 55 gallon drum of it on the freeway. I drove it directly to the dealer stopping twice to have the oil changed so as not to smoke my turbo bushings. I got there and the diesel guy happen to be in the income bay and saw it smoking from underneath. He said drive it right around back and I will swap it out right away. they had a reman injector sitting on the shelf and once he found which one it was it took him about 30 minutes to do then I was on my way with fresh oil and a fuel filter swap with the dye.

I don't like the edge juice because it is alot more of a pain in the you know what to install. I had one on my ford and it just caused problems. I'm not saying it is a bad one just not the one for me. And it only created problems for me since I had a 6.oh o.

I pull the trailer about 3 or 4 times a week. I always ran my Volumizer on the 60 setting empty and towing and flipped to the 100 setting from time empty. Usually run about 65 -70. I wonder if that was it???

Volumizer?
In what ways does the Volumizer increase power?
Would the Van Aaken C-3.2 (duration, only) box with a Rockteck Sensor or Tone Ring Mod, to add a bit of timing, be a reasonable alternative, in this case?
A number of dealers, in Texas, are saying that the VA-C3.2 is a popular box with the towing crowd.
