Correct me if I'm wrong
I have a D3500, DOM 9-03 w/ the fuel pump already relocated into the tank.
I would like to get one of the hi performance fuel pump setups one day but need to wait on the money.
It sounds like it's OK to just add in a system like this one on the frame rail. Then I could swap out to the 5 micron drop-in in the factory filter housing and be in real good shape for just a little money.
Is this correct?

Just a plain ole guy
You will probably need to also add a draw straw kit. (new pickup tube for the tank) Otherwise your new pump will be pulling it's fuel through the old pump still in the tank.
I think there is also something that happens when you mount a LP in a location that is very simple and easy to get to. They last.

I could get the Glacier system for $210 or build the same thing from this NAPA site for less than $90 in parts using the following part numbers:
4770 - filter base, $21 x2ea
3244 - 16 micron fuel filter with drain, $7
3674 - 2 micron fuel filter, $12
total $61 not counting fittings, bracket and hose.
Edit: added this site for another reference:
single inlet and outlet filter base

With this system, I'll be getting good filtration and water separation, but not getting the benefit of the de-airation that the Fass and AD provide. Anybody know how those systems remove the air from the fuel.
