Common Rail SMARTY, Problems?

Just a little fact finding mission here. I was wondering how many of you guys have being having issues with your SMARTY programmer?

Please note, this is in reference to the 3RD GEN Programmer only.
If you have a specific failure you have reason to believe may (or may not) be related to the Smarty not playing well with another downloader/box, please indicate so.
This thread will be locked down if it turns into some kind of flame fest. It is not my intent to excite either disgruntled customers OR the manufacturer or their representatives. Keep it cordial and this could be a nice source of information for us.

Just cast your vote and keep an eye on it.

And, if this gets a nice turn out (and stays professional) I will be following up with another (customer service related, covering other players) Poll after the close of this one in 30 days.

I have one of the 06 models. Seems to be working fine so far. It's a little premateure to ask for assessments of them though, as they have been out for about a week.

I just installed the SMARTY on my '03 yesterday. No issues with downloading. So far very pleased with the smoothness this downloader brings.

I don't think I need to explain what I voted....

I wish I could vote = Issue(s) with mine, minor, or were resolved by the manufacturer.

Unfortunately it isn't happening that way. If I could just get in touch with Marco I would gladly see what I could do to help him out so we don't have this problem on other peoples trucks.

Im sure anyone who would be in my situation would feel the same way.

Had to. I'm trying to lighten things up around here.

You're a good sport, I like that.

Before I got my Smarty, I was concidering getting a turbo upgrade to improve resonse time. Now all I need is an upgraded clutch and I will be very happy with the performace of my truck.

Did you ever find out if anybody else has the same problem as you when stacking with the TST?

There have been a few people who I've talked to that have had similiar problems. Some have found the fix through special programs from Marco and some have simply taken the tst off and now run the Smarty by itself.

I did talk to one guy who was running an orignal smarty (like the one I tried) and he recently took it off and tried the "scarry Larry" from HTS. (like the one I have)....

Since then he took the bully dog off because he had to give it back to Marianne at HTS. He loaded the Smarty and had ZERO problems.

That is an IDENTICAL situation to what I had... just with different outcomes.

That is the crazy thing about downloaders.

Well I have loaded and unloaded my Smarty many times. I have upgraded it twice now with different versions from the web site without any problems.

Mine is stacked with TST and EZ now. I did try it alone for short period without any problems.

Now I did have issues, weak stock flexplate snapped into two pieces, loose freeze plug decided to blow out when I fueled hard past 3300rpms the first time or so, broke all 4 tires loose and caused ugly hopping when launching in 4wd at the track, smoked out a couple of intersections when I wasn't paying attention and caused bad feelings expressed very explicitly. These issues can all be directly associated with the Smarty as they did not happen with the BDTD stacked before. So maybe I should vote issues fixed by ME?
