Commander Update for X2, Info Inside.
Other than the programming inside, the X2 XZT,standard, and Race are all the same I thought? The whole point of being upgradable? I'll be pretty dissapointed if I can't get the 6 levels and the XZT's can!
I think the problem with the Commander is switching more than 3 levels. It works with the XZT 'cause it doesn't have more than 3 levels. Both the Std. and Race do, hence the problem with these boxes. Capiche?
I'm pretty sure that is the whole point of the update!?
I guess, the way that I originally understood this thread, is that the new harness is going to hook the commander up to update it. My race box is already hooked to the commander and running the top 3 levels just fine. I'm just wanting all the levels! Quad.......tell me if I completely missed the point here or what!????????

vzdude, quad is saying it works w/the X2 XZT because it has only 3 settings. You have an X2 Zillaraider Race, NOT XZT, so right now the commander is only working your top 3 setting(65, 100, 140 HP). When the commander gets updated it will let you use the Commander to work all levels of your X2 RACE, not just the top 3 levels. Is that clear as mud or what?
Not really. Even though you can update the Commander without the harness, the wiring of the existing harness won't allow for the update to work. That's why we need the mini patch harness (or whatever you want to call it).
The XZT is not the same as the STD or the Race. There is no way the XZT will ever have more than 3 levels plus off. There is no way to upgrade from XZT to STD or Race. I tried to cook something up and it is just not made to do that.
You need the cable to hook up 2 serial lines to the X2 instead of to analog lines that you have it hooked to know. Now, once you hook the serial lines up I can do more with it and Commander more power levels.
So, long story short, you hook this adapter up, it goes in a different port on the Commander and then you update the Commander, select X2 std or race and then you have all the levels.
