I was thinking that too but I couldn't remember for sure. I realy think that the uppwer section of the line is anodized. If I'm thinking correctly (and haven't lost my mind completely ), an anodized fitting will interupt a ground signal. I'm getting too technical for myself.

Do you guys think it would be possible to put a ground wire behind the insulating washer as long as it is not touching the stud that the purple leads screws to? The washer is insulated so I am guessing it is grounded behind behind it otherwise it wouldn't matter if the purple lead touched it. Maybe that will work. All I can do is try......

That will work if you can make certain it does not touch the post.

Ground will read 300 degrees so the gauge is working.

I have argued until I am blue in the face that the hot line does not ground the sensor but, I have been told I am an idiot about 20 times when I do that???

You might also just find a way to ground the entire line and that might be easier?

^ That would be my vote! A jumper wire and a hose clamp won't look pretty, but will do the job just fine!

Don't matter if it doesn't look pretty; nobody will see it and that is what I'm gonna do! Of course because it is the easiest.....

Thanks for your help especially vzdude and qzilla. I'll back you up from now on Quad. I know for a fact that the cooler line from Diesel Manor is not grounded. I really do think it is because the connection fittings are anodized. That makes logical sense.

I got it all working now. Thanks for all the input guys. I ended up putting a ring terminal on some 14 gauge wire and clamping it down to the sensor with a hose clamp. It doesn't look the greatest but works good for now. The important thing is that it is up and working.....
