Commander A-Pillar Problems
Has anyone had any problems installing the a-pillar from Quad in their truck? I just put the a-pillar on and I can't get the bolt to catch a single thread. I am using the new bolt that came with the pillar, but it seems to be about a 1/4" too short. The pillar is sitting flush with my factory pillar, so I'm just guessing the bolt is short. I have tried looking everywhere around town and no one has one or can even get one. I've looked at Fastenal, Napa, Home Depot, and I'm gonna try Lowes later on tonight.

Mine went in fine. I just didn't like the front of the pillar mount not fitting under the stock pillars trim piece against the windshield. I cut that trim off the factory pillar and now the mount is flush.

Yeah, I'll take a pic after work and post it. The pillar mount is nice. Only problem is, with the window down, every diesel that pulls up next to me at a light sees the Commander and figures I want to race!

I had issues with the bolt, finally put on my glasses and got a flashlight and got it on but only a couple of threads, it could have been a little longer for sure. Mine is nearly flush too so that is cool.

Well I've got it in there, but I just can't get the bolt to thread. A strip of velcro is holding until I can find a longer bolt. Everything is working fine with the exception of the tranny temp sensor. I can't get it to read at all. I've got the terminal put on first, then the insulating washer, then the regular washer, then the lock washer, and finally the nut. I think it's on correct. I guess it just isn't grounding correctly or something. I put some teflon on it but not much. The same as the fuel pressure sending unit and it works fine. I have it installed in the cooler line; I wonder if it's causing it to not get a good ground? It has a steel upper section, so I wouldn't think this is the problem but I'm not sure. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, this thing rocks!!! This race module is working great so far. The hottest it got on the 140 HP setting at WOT run was 1387°. I could use a turbo to cool the temps, but I don't think those temps are extreme. I'm getting very anxious to build the tranny and stack it with a Smarty along with a turbo. I'm thinking an II SPS 62/14, but I've still got time to decide on that. Gotta recoup the bank account. Lol.

Okay some good news and some bad news. First of all the good news; I tried putting the bolt in once more and for some reason it went right in. Lol. Guess I just needed to cool down a bit. Now the bad news; the sender still doesn't read a temperature. I've been driving around a lot tonight and the truck just sat still for a few minutes. I changed the orientation of the bolt/washers so that now it is the sender, insulating washer, ring terminal, washer, lock washer and nut. This is correct right? I drove around for about 15 minutes and still have nothing. I don't know what's wrong....
