Commander installed... readings are way off.
I spent most of the day installing My new Commander yesterday. Not cause it needed to take that long but I wanted to do everything right and as neat as possible. Anyway, got it all hooked up started the truck, Boost went straight to 39 psi and stayed. EGT's went straight to 1823 and stayed there. I have double, triple, and quadrouple checked all of my connections, I almost have the directions memorized I've read them so many times.
After driving it for a while the Boost started randomly going from 39psi to 0psi and everywhere in between. The other goofy thing is even if I just turn the key on and don't start the engine the boost and egt's count there way up to 39 and 1823, which I assume is max, and they stay there.
I have set it up for my truck, which is stock accept for what is in my sig.
On the good side, I love it other than that. The display is great and I love all of the options. I'm not about to send it back without trying to fix these bugs.
Any advise or ideas?
Thanks, Woody

I have had one or two people have this issue. I never did find out exactly what the issue was because they ended up fixing it?
The first thing I would check is your ground.
If you are reading 1823 and 39psi then the gauge is not reading a max but, that is the max it will float too. In other words if you disconnect the sensors and leave the power hooked up you will get the same readings.
So first make sure you have a really good ground and then check back with us.

I'll go check the ground. Right now it's grounded on the bracked / brace where the clutch pedal would be if it were a manual. I used one of the bolts that hold the bracket that's got the mess of wires attatched to it.
I was one of the ones with a bad ground on initial installation. So I ran the ground wire back through the firewall and used the main terminal ground in the drivers side of the engine compartment.
After that, if you still get some bad readings, double check your T-Tap connections to make sure you are getting a good connection. Mine were intermitently loosing signal, so I canged mine out to the parallel wire style and havent had a problem with the readings since.

A few years ago I used to be a professional stereo installer. And one of the biggest problems with any electronics is the ground, I allway recommend taking a little buffing wheel say like a dremmel or somethig and cleaning all the paint off of the point where you would like to ground to.

The big problem with these trucks is that there is a lot of aluminum brackets under the dash. These normally do not give youa good ground.
There are asome bolts running through the firewall that work great though.

AH HA !!!! Qzilla, now that you metion aluminum, I believe the bracket I bolted to was aluminum. I will switch it to one of the bolts coming through the fire wall and if that doesn't work, I'll run the wire back through the firewall and finde ground out there. I'm in Denver, Co. getting a load of steel right now though. I'll be home tonight or early tomarrow, make the switch and let y'all know.
Thanks for all the help and ideas!

Competely Humiliated !!!

OK, I moved the ground, nothing. I checked all the connections for the 5000th time. I checked the pyro itself for resistance with an ohm meter, working great. I was ready to pull my hair out. As a last hope I crammed my self under the dash again to undo the ground and push it back through the fire wall to find a ground under the hood and low and behold, there was a small plug coming half poking through the firewall and a small plug on the commander harness that was hung up almost out of site. I plugged them together and.... A MIRACLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm stupid but excited that I can watch my egt's now.
Thanks to everyone that tried to help me figure this out. I'm sure I'll have more questions in the future so if you know the answer please don't think I'm a moron and ignore me.
