Two days ago I was parked at a redlight and my cousin pulled up next to me wanting to race. After the light changed I went about 200 feet and my motor died. My check engine light came on and codes 2146 and 2149. This morning while leaving McDonalds I thought I would show off for a couple of friends, as pulled out of the parking lot the same thing happened again. BTW both times I had my HOT juice turned on level 5. Could it be a problem with Edge box? Anyboby know why it happened and how to fix it?

This happened to me when I first got the Edge Juice. Your truck has got to be up to at least 174 degrees operating temp. Your codes are 'soft' and should leave after 6-7 starts. When this happened I called Edge and this is what the tech told me. Just put your set your attitude monitor to watch op. temp and as soon as it hits 174+ go 5 and fire away.

You can run lower settings before 174. Just play around with it and see what you can do and what you cant.

What Dan said is true but the first time it happened your engine temp would have been well above 174 because of the distance you had driven. If you were at the Mcy D's by your house I can see engine temp being low because it is so close. I think the problem lyes deeper.

 

ok guys i have thrown this code before and it was before 174....but today it acted wierd goin up a hill on level 1 and the engine was 194 degrees. it jus cut out and threw the 2149 code.....then about 10 miles down the road it felt liek it shut down( radio was up too loud to hear the truck) but when i pulled over it was running but sounded liek crap until i put it into park. checked the codes and then the 2146 popped up..............someone please help!!!!!! is it the box or my truck

 

Mine will set these codes pretty reliably if I turn up the juice and get on it quickly, but if I go easy for 10 seconds or so all is well. If you're up to temp and you wait before you hammer it and it still throws the codes I would check and grease the injector connectors. If this doesn't take care of it I would call edge and get a new one on the way.

 

will they replace it if im not the original owner of the box?

 

I have the same problem and i have been in contact with edge. They were supposed to have a fix ready last month but they are still testing it. If u call them they will put u on "the list" and call u when the update is ready. U will just send in your box and they will reprogram it.

 

well it did it to me going down the road the other day....but instead of shutting off it was doing a missing type sound like the injector was not supplying furl...like a hissing pop type sound



and now my monitor is freezing up
