is it the clutch?

my truck feels like it has no power. the engine sounds like its running fine but when i mash the skinny petal on smarty revo level 5 it no longer takes off like a rocket but slowly and steadly gains speed. also it used to smoke like a train but now there is just a haze.

it seems like it is the stock clutch giving out and slipping.

is it the clutch? any other problems it might be

If the clutch is slipping your rpm's will shoot up but your speed wont.

like cgmorgan said, are your rpm's going up but no power? Slipping the clutch is very distinctive.

You can't feel anything really.. you'll just have to listen to the engine and look at your rpms. Like they said your rpms will go up but you won't be goin with them!

You would be able to smell a distinctive smell if your clutch was burning.

Does a burning clutch smell like burning plastic or something like that?

If you have ever been behind a semi-truck going down a hill riding his brakes too much you've probably smelled it. Or if the brakes were smoking. It smells the same to me.

I can't think of any other way to explain the smell.

5000 miles isn't that many.. Its what I changed mine at before I had a 2 micron setup on the truck but you may have gotten some dirty fuel.

If your clutch was slipping I think you would smell it. It's very distinct and noticeable.
