chrysler warranty
This has probably been talked about before, but I am new to this forum. Do the EDGE or TST type boxes void engine warranty? I have heard from a guy at the dealer no. Another dealer says "voids ALL warranty even body". Obviously I'd take the box off for work done, but can they see that it was there? Like the Powerstroke computer does?
Read the sticker on the driver's side of the valve cover... engine warranty void if fueled above factory levels. That's straight from Cummins.
DC would also be within their rights to refuse warranty coverage for most powertrain problems because of a turned-up engine.
However, the remainder of the warranty cannot simply be "voided". As a consumer, you still have a right to have, for example, your A/C evaporator replaced under warranty, no matter what you've done to the engine.
Yes, either box will leave tell-tale signs in the performance statistics of the ECM that a competent tech can find.
Bottom line - if you want to play, be prepared to accept the consequences.
