Changing Customer preferences in the ECM with Smarty.

I am trying to see if Bob and Marco can find a way to adjust customer preferences with the Smarty. There are some things that can be adjusted easily at the dealer but when the Smarty is loaded it resets it. On my 05 I want to be able to turn the tow/haul into overdrive lock out. I went to the dealer and they changed it for me, then I loaded the Smarty and it changed it back, so then the tech switched it back again while the Smarty was loaded and it worked. I have not changed SW's on the Smarty again because I am pretty sure it will reset it again. I think there are also other things that can be changed like daytime running lights and a few others. Does anyone know of another way of changing these settings besides the star scan tool? I know that Bob and Marco are both way busy with things but this would be a great feature to have.

Agreed, I have numerous things I wanna do but don't want to go to the dealer for. Daytime running lamps, 3 blinks with the click of my directional, door chimes off, high idle enabled, etc...

I don't know if it will be offered in the future or not. I will mention this to Marco tomorrow.

We can add this to the list to be looked into.

Thank you and sorry for being tardy.

Any news on this issue? I have the Smarty Jr. and I would like to be able to turn on OD lockout on tow/haul. Bob/Marco you have a great product but it would be even better if it allowed for resetting the customer preference parameters defaulted by the Smarty.

I'd buy one just for that! I love to disable my "auto" door locks.

I think there are some things that you can already do yourself with the info in the owners manual. I think that you can change the door lock setting, if I remember right it has something to do with key on/off sequence and then hitting the door locks. I might look it up.

I just tried to PM Bob W. and received a message that his PM box was full. Anyone heard from him lately? This issue with parameters being defaulted by the Smarty flash are a big concern to some of us, especially the 05 owners who tow heavy. I have read somewhere that BD has a box that will correct the problem and allow OD lockout. Has anyone with an 05 used one? how does it connect and work and what is the model number?

Thanks

The BD overdrive lockout works great. Can lockout overdrive in either regular or tow haul mode. Very easy intall. Here's the link.
