Centerforce Good?

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 HO with six speed, is a centerforce double disc clutch good or not? I have heard good and bad what do you guys think? I have some mods but not alot. I am planning on puttin in injectors but i need a clutch first. I have been told South Bend is good but i dont want to spend 2000 dollars on a clutch. I want something i can drive on the street but hook to a sled when needed. Please give me your ideas anything will help. Thanks

You should be able to get a south bend dual disk for around 1500 to 1600. I would definately go with south bend because you only want to pull the tranny once.

You can get a South Bend NON SFI approved DD for around $1300, but these clutches are for street & off road use only and are "NOT" recommended for competition use.

So with that being said dont cheap out on this part of you mod list, you will more than likely regret it in the future!
If your truck is gonna be street driven and hook to the sled, I recommend the South Bend Sprung Hub 3600 12CB DD!

I would definately avoid the centerforce. Leave that to the import crowd. You cant go wrong with a Southbend Clutch. They work awesome and Peter gives great customer service there.

Centerforces are meant to inclease clamping load at higher RPMs.... we have no RPMs. The torque these motors make usually kills the centerforces in no time.

Our service shop here used to use them, but after tearing the centers out of a bunch of them and them not standing behind their warranty we switched away. Centerforce is kind of like K&N and another big diesel performance company. Everybody knows the name, but there is better options out there.

The import crowd even says "No Thank You". Enough said. Get a SouthBend and be done with it.

I run a southbend in my diesel Jetta and it works awesome. I am about 175hp to the ground and it holds with no issues.

You have a 175hp Diesel Jetta? That sounds radical. Is there a forum for guys who mod Diesel VW's?

I have a 3250 w/the diaphragm pressure plate. When I ordered my 3250, Peter @ SB told me not to sled pull w/it. I have also read somewhere on here a user w/a 3600DD say that if he were to do it again, he would get the 3850 because the pedal pressure felt (to him) about the same.

This is a pretty good forum for the VW guys. There are a couple others out there, but this is the one I like.
