Cat back

I have a new 2005 CTD Dually 4x4 Auto. As I have done with all of my other vehicles - gassers and never going back , I want to put on a cat back dual exhaust. However, being new to diesel's I don't know if this is the best way to go or not. Don't plan on bombing the vehicle just a cold air intake, some kind of plug in tow box and a better exhaust. Anyway, is their any advantage of a dual exhaust vs. a single on diesels?

Thanks for your time
Mac

I have a Banks Monster 4" Exhaust Cat Back System. The mandrell bends and high flow muffler help with EGTs, especially when matched with the AFE Air Intake. It also sounds good without being too loud.

I have seen the MBRP Cool Duals. They look great. I don't think there is any advantage from duals on an In-Line 6 Cylinder diesel, just looks and sound.

Well, there maybe one advantage, you can SMOKE ricers on both sides at the same time .

Or since you already have an 4 inch system just get the muffler. DPPI has them and they sound pretty darn good.

No performance difference between duals or single exhaust. To help keep drone down and EGTs low take a look at the Aeroturbine with off-set pipe kit. The Aeroturbine is mounted on the outlet of the cat and the off-set pipe connects to your exisitng 4" tail pipe. Banks also offers a good cat back system as well.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I really appreciate it. Ahhhh..decisions....decisions And, of course I somehow have to convince the spousal unit that these upgrades are truly necessary. I think after all the upgrades I have done to our other vehicles in the past she is catching on to my little scam

Thanks again
