Carbon Fiber Manifold, Anyone have one?

Was reading my latest issue of DieselPower, and saw the new manifold for the 5.9.

www.cfmplus.com

They are supposed to give you almost 1000 cfm compared to 700 cfm of the stock manifold. Beyond that, it is supposed to be 10% cooler as the carbon fiber isn't as prone to heat sink. They say it will improve fuel economy. Anyone have any experience with one of these?

It is made of plastic, NOT carbon fiber. It says "carbon fiber appearance" in the ad. I saw this a while ago and thought it would be cool to have some CF under the hood. For the price, it should be REAL CF!

Its plastic over alum is what I've been told. Just look at it this way, it doesn't matter how mush the intake flows. You still have to get the air through the grid heater.

What I did was take a 2nd gen base and welded a 3rd intake on it. It looks factory and cheap to build

I've tapped into the stock intake to pick up my boost pressure. Not sure I could drill and tap one like this. May not be such a good mod after all. However, 2-3 mpg would be worth it like BIGDAN.

Or you could compromise and go with the ATS Arc Flow which is pre tapped and has a port for water/meth. Probably flows just as much as the cfmplus.
