1HP = 746 watts (746 kw is nearly 1000hp)
brake power = torque x radians
watts = newton meters x [(rpm/60)x2pi]
output is the rate at which torque is delivered
This is why a hemi at nearly twice the rpm and just over half the torqe has roughly the same output as a cummins.
Acceleration, when a unit is at anything less than full load/speed, is an entirely different beast. Now you are into the kenetic energy of rotation among other things.
I have never looked into it before but I use to work for Caterpillar, how about taking your truck to a Big truck place. Like Peterbilt and run it on their chassis dyno. We had one at Cat for the big trucks? Figure it would be one more place to check!
