I don't need a boost fooler with my smarty Jr I can see 35psi plus. With a fooler on there is no diff. With just a fooler I see 35psi +. No fooler or smarty 26psi. Maybe he has a map problem.

Well all I'm saying is i could not get more than 24 psi with a Smarty JR POD and a boost elbow on my early 2004 until i put the Quad Boost fooler on it and then magically i can now see 35+ psi. Believe it or not !

Funny the Quad site even says the same thing if you look under there Boost Foolers for the different Dodge years. Smarty does not boost fool on pre 04.5 because of the Non Electronic Wastegate, so i have been told countless times on two different forums.

Now i would like to see Racer 47 try a Boost Fooler and see what happens. It should be interesting.

I do have the pod.

How do i know what % its set to?

I know this is going to sound totally ridiculous, and i have no reasonable answer for it, but on the way home tonight while getting on the fwy. i thought i would see the usual 24 lbs. and then the 2 lb drop. To my complete amazement it went straight up tp 32 lbs. I thought it was just a fluke so at the next light i tried it again and sure enough it went to 32 lbs. again.

Is there any explanation for this??

Check your gauge connections and make sure there are all tight and the lines are not cracked around the compression fittings.

Did you crimp the boost reference hose shut and check what your boost is? That will help determine which way to go to troubleshoot.

You will have to get the instructions out for the POD and see how to set the percentages.

I have an 06 with a Bully Dog and never see above 23psi. I figured that was normal. Is something wrong with mine? Should I be looking for a BF too then?

You need a boost fooler from say Quad. I run the Quad X2 with a stack program for boost fooling and added fuel, great combo with the Smarty!

So 23pis is normal for us then with BDTD or Smarty. Need to stack a boost fooler on top. Will that wake it up? Crazy Larry is impressive, but my Duramax friends tell me about their high settings not being streetable. That the smallest touch makes them spin tires. Mines far from that.

Not on your 06. 32psi is stock, Smarty with WG off will allow up to 44, but 38-40 is all you want from the stock turbo.

I am not 100% sure, but I don't think the BDTD fools at the lower levels.

No, that is not normal. Way low even for stock.

How are you reading boost? Manual gauge or thru a monitor?

A BF will allow you to make over 30 psi of boost and stop any over boost codes if the boost tables have not been remapped. It adds no power, just allows whats ther eto function better.

I'm reading boost through the ALDL on the Outlook monitor. 32psi eh? I'll check again, but I doubt I've ever seen anything THAT high before and I'd have to literally stomp on it in Crazy Larry setting which I never do. Afraid I'll be left picking up transmission parts after.

OK. I'm right. I still can't get more then say 25 or so, but seems to settle in at 23. Truck runs fine otherwise. Think my problem is the lack of a boost fooler while using the Bully Dog Triple Dog? Seems like extreme settings (crazy larry) should account for that.

Nothing that loads into ECU does boost fooling, only remapping boost tables. The WG is almost always going to limit boost at 32 psi. Since your not even seeing that and you have plenty of power the monitor has to be incorrect.

You still need to check with a manual gauge what your boost is to nail the problem down. You should see within 2-3 lbs of what a manual gauge will read with an 06 and Outlook monitor.
