I was talking more specifically about when I am cleaning the INSIDE of it! Like while I'm vacuuming and armoralling and windexing, etc...kinda a pain to crawl around INSIDE your truck to do all this, ya know? Windows down while washing the outside of the truck might also not be such a good idea but maybe while you're waxing...so there is no way of turning that thing off huh? I know on my 96' Dakota, you can just reach under the dash and pull the little box that makes all the annoying dinging out...couldn't find one on the Cummins though.

AAAAAH. Those facts are very important as they change my advice greatly! As far as I know, there is no way of turning it off unless you found the chimer.

While on the subject of can the Smarty... Check and clear codes on other model and brand trucks?
