Boy this could go on forever. The torque decreases because of timing. The higher the timing the more horsepower, but no gain in torque. Timing is required to turn 5k. That is why guy run 30 plus timing for pulling. This could be counteracted by injecting fuel faster (i.e. sigma pump) so less timing can be run. Obviously there are the other mechanicle requirements like the cam that will play a major part in this equation but you are talking some serious coin here. For the average guy 5k equals more tire speed so a good compromise of timing for rpms and torque at the desired rpm range (wether this be mechanicle timing or electronic) coupled with a good cam should do the trick.
