Can the Commander be fooled?

Can the rail pressure gauge on the commander be fooled in anyway? I talked to a vendor that said it could be fooled by crazy larry? Wes

It has limitations like everything else in this world but, you will read proper Rail Pressure with any downloader installed.

Basically the Commander is reading directly off of the sensor and the only limitation is the maximum of that particular sensor.

Limitations such as the maximum the gauge will read which is 27500, correct?

So with and ez, PMCR, and crazy larry i should be gettin an actual reading?

Yes, but just so you know, you can still go over that level. You just need to watch how fast it gets there, it it kind of eases up there, no problem. But if it gets there like boom, then you probably are over.

So long as you hook it up to the EZ where it goes into the Rail sensor you will get a correct reading. Some trucks are 27K some are 27.5k some are even in the 26.7k range. It is completely hard to say but it will read up to whatever your sensor will spit out.

The most ive seen on the gauge is 25XXX. Does this sound safe? The truck will cut out and kinda miss every once in a while? Wes

You probably have enough duration with your stack that you are keeping the rail pressure in check.

The longer you hold the injector open (duration) the more the pressure will actually drop. This is why pressure wakes up the TST and other heavy duration type power adders.

Now you can get to the point of no return where the rail flat runs out of fuel but, it does not sound like that is happening.

Not sure what the miss is but, it sounds like it could be timing related? Of course that all depends on how much pressure you are actually able to hold. Does it spike to 25k or will it hold it at WOT?

what ive been seeing is that it climbs to 25000 then drops to about 16-18000. The miss will come in when i give it full throttle, it will miss once or twice then run fine to red line? Wes

Either you are absolutely running out of fuel.

OR

You have the Commander hooked up to the wrong side of the rail pressure sensor?

I personally would bet on running out of fuel for a short period of time but, it is always worth checking where you have the Rail Pressure hooked up to.

Make certain that you are on the middle wire as soon as it comes out of the rail sensor. You want to be sure you are on the portion of the wiring harness that is closest to the sensor.

Well i have a extra pusher pump installed on it. i never see under 16 psi of fuel pressure. I am on the middle wire as close to the sensor as possible. Would this be the time for a upgraded cp3? Wes
