Cabin Fever Upgrades
As much as I love winter and the snow, I am ready for spring and warmer weather.
I have been stock piling a few parts here and there....
Used ATS 2pc Pulse Flow
It is in sad shape, but it was a really good price. The manifold is going to get get coated in a silver, high temp ceramic finish.
For gaskets and the flange, I went with Cometic:

Rear diff cover, MH 11.50:
I am very impressed with the sizem finish, and overall quality of this diff cover:
I then found a stock valve cover:
The valve cover will be dropped off this week at a local custom motorcycle paint shop, that specializes in custom flame painting on gas tank and fenders. I am going to have it completely redone, with silver/grey smoke and flames.
Then, is the FS2500:
I just ordered an Amsoil billet oil return cap, that will be sent off to the powdercoater to change from the blue anodized color to a nice wrinkled black finish.
I also bought some PIAA headlight bulbs and some fog light bulbs:
My Air Dog 150 will arrive Monday, and then I am going to order a Draw Straw V, and get it installed.
Of course, I need to go out and buy a ton of Amsoil gear fluid (75W90) and Amsoil motor oil....Heavy Duty Diesel & Marine 15W40
The only thing I need to get is a new turbo! I am also planning on selling my Smarty JR and buying a SR.
Then, I am going to save up for a full replacement trans in 2010 (hopefully my stock trans can last one year!)

I went to the hardware today, and bout 4 stainless steel bolts for the valve cover. If I remember correctly, they are M8x35MM.
I bought M8X40MM, and will cut the threads down slightly. I also bought 4 neoprene rubber washers, so the bolts will not harm the clear coat/paint on the valve cover.
And.....onto the valve cover: I stopped by the shop today and the guy showed me 3 different designs that he 'whipped' up.
The red "DODGE" will be repainted greyish silver, as well as all the other lettering and Cummins symbol. If you look closely at the currently paint on the stock lettering and symbols, they are just roll painted, meaning the top of the letters and symbols are just painted.
The shop is going to paint the tops and sides of all the lettering and symbols, in a greyish silver color, so they stand out more and have more substance.
They are using a 'true fire' design/pattern, with the flames raising up from all the sides. The entire valve cover will also be clearcoated, for protection.
The price is alot more than I ever would have imagined, but the shop is really good and I am very pleased with the customer service.
My Amsoil billet oil cap (for the FS2500) came in the mail today. It comes in a blue anodized color. I am going to drop it all, along with some other parts, at a powdercoating shop (that also did my Thuren track bar) to be coated in a greyish silver finish.

Well, the cover is finally done:
It was sanded, smoothed, painted, and clear coated..........can't wait to get it installed with the stainless steel bolts
The work was done by Boon's Customs:
