the compressor on my 06 2500 locked down, so i went and bought a new one along with a new dryer and orfice tube. I flushed the evaporator core and condensor and all the other lines, pulled a vacuum on it and went to put the freon in, after it sucked up about half of the freon it made a super loud pop inside the dash so i think the evaporator core bursted. how big of a deal is it to replace the evaporator core on these trucks?

You have to pull the dash to get the hvac box out. I've heard it's an all day job, not a PITA, just tedious.

Do a search...it should give you a lot of reading.
