BullyDog TD with Quadzilla Boost Fooler
BullyDog TD with Quadzilla Boost Fooler
I thought that these 2 products would work together but I actually lost performance with them together. I live at over 4,000ft elevation and I know I could use more air to increase performance. I talked to Quadzilla tech support and they acknowledged that there may be a problem with the using their boost fooler with the BullyDog TD. I am guessing that the programming in the Bullydog doesn't like seeing a max manifold pressure of only 22psi and won't give you full fueling. Is the crazy larry program different? I see a number of people on this forum using Cl with a boost fooler. Is this just to lower egt's or is there some performance to be found? Thanks for the help guys, TJ

You should not loose any power? Since you are talking of crazy larry I am assuming that you have a 600 series motor? Also the cap is not 22psi.
If you truck stops fueling there is some other issue or the boost fooler is not working correctly?
Also did you dyno this or is it a seat of the pants feel or a timed race or something?

Qzilla I am glad to hear from you. At first i could sense a seat of the pants sluggishness in the truck with the boost fooler installed. So I removed it and felt a noticeable power increase. I know it is easy to make false judgements on power adders so I used a simple test to be sure. Over a week I swapped the boost fooler in and out of the truck every other day. I found with the BullyDoq TD on extreme I would hit 83 mph from a dead stop to a certain sign which is a little over an 1/8th mile. With the boost fooler installed I would only achieve 80mph for the same test. I do believe my egt's were lower but the truck just didn't pull as hard. Weather conditions were within a narrow range for the entire week so i don't think temperature or humidity were a factor.
Please don't think that I am bashing your product or trying to say boost foolers don't work, I did my research and know that a boostfooler is exactly what I want and your product is proven. I think the problem is with the BullyDog not playing nice with the lower boost signal or something to that effect.
Your tech support mentioned that although they hardly ever recieved any complaints from the boost fooler that the Bullydog seemed to be the one that got them. I hope that there may be a simple fix or work around.
Thanks for the the reply Qzilla. Any ideas?

973604X4, I actually don't make much smoke. I run the extreme program on a stock truck and I only get a little black haze from time to time. At 4,000ft elevation I would think the truck would run extremely rich and belch out smoke but it doesn't. Maybe I have another problem that I don't know about. I wish i had a rail pressure gauge or even Lp gauge so I could see what the fuel system is doing. The truck is fast so it is hard to think that I have a problem but you never know. Thanks for the reply, TJ

How do I go back? I haven't had any luck trying to upgrade to CL because I am using a newer version of software that doesn't have a CL built for it yet. This new update agent isn't as easy as it was before. Thanks, TJ
I have the 2.2.7 Crazy Larry edition and 2.3.0....so have your pick. I can email them anytime.
