Bullydog stuck on vehicle

I won a Bullydog Outlook combo off Ebay for $285. The outlook paperwork says it's for an 03-06 Cummins, so that's ok, although I haven't tried it yet. The Triple Dog Power Pup says it's for Ford, Dodge, and Chevy. However, the programmer seems to be stuck on Powerstroke 6.0L. There's no main menu for a way to get back to pick a different vehicle.

I downloaded the Agent from Bullydog and it updates fine and check sums fine. So it's on the latest program. Although I will add that Crazy Larry wouldn't download and told me to try back later.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on with it. I wrote BullyDog, but it'll probably be some time before they get back with me on it I bet.

Thanks,
gpshemi

if you go to install download it should ask you what vehicle you want it on

It doesn't. The agent reconizes the programmer and says it needs an update. Then you click and it starts the update. No choices to be made with the agent. It already knows it appears.

The first time I installed the Bully Dog I found it confusing.

As stated above, once you plug it in to your OBD port and choose to install, it should ask what type of truck it is.

When I plug it into the truck it give the same menu picks as when it's hooked up to the computer. It says something like "load powerstroke 6.0" and blinks to "yes?" If you say no, then it flashes for a second and then asks you the same thing again.

gpshemi,

When you first plug it in....does the splash screen say Triple Dog?

After that what screen does it go to?

Does it say Main Menu on top with the first option being Install Download?

Bud

I'll look again tonight. It seems to me that it flashes the triple dog logo, then goes to the first menu with the first pick being download. However, at the top of the screen it says powerstroke 6.0L and is asking you to it yes. Do they all default to that until you hit download.

See...the reason I'm hung up about this is becuase of what the auction stated. It said it was a return becuase it didn't read the correct truck on the monitor. However, it didn't seem to indicate what monitor. I think it could just be confusing really. The thing looks brand new with wrappers on everything, wire ties, and screen protectors in place. I'm sure it's new.

Yes. They all come defaulted into the Ford code. However, when you select install download a select vehicle screen should come up that gives you the option to select another vehicle. You should be able to select Cummins 5.9L at that point and then the downloader resets into the dodge software. Let me know what happens.

ok. I'll check it out tonight. I was afraid to hit download for fear it would try to cram powerstoke info in the truck. I hope that can't happen really....

Do it with the key off. This will protect your truck. With the key off it won't see anything that happens to get transmitted on to the can bus. After it says cummins on the main screen then turn the key on when prompted.

OK. At first I got it plugged into the truck and went down to "Read DTC's" and it just says "loaded". Nothing else happens. If you hit the back key it shows. "Enter Password 1111 6734". However, if I go to Download and press Y, then it comes up with the truck options. So it appears to work. Haven't installed it yet. I have to take it into the shop for a fix first. No since it putting it in and then having to take it back out. I'll just leave well enough alone. Especially cuz this dealer seems ultra sensative about any kind of mod, yet at the same time drives a dealer 2500 all customed out. Go figure.
