Bullydog Power Pup Info...

I've looked around on Bullydog's site, but I can't find anything about torque rating on the Power Pup. Search is disabled at the time so I can't do a forum search to see if it's been posted before. Anyone know what the torque ratings are on the given levels?

Well it seems that after searching a bit more, I find that on Extreme it's 130hp/250tq. However, none of the other levels were listed. Anyone have info on the other two?

I think I read somewhere that the torque increase was roughly double the horsepower increase for the BDDL.

I recently put the power pup on my wifes 04.5 and I like it alot, went with the performance level and it is much snappier and milage has gone up aprox 2 mpg when driven normally. I highly recommend the pup.

The book that came with my pup says

Tow mode=50-70 RWHP

Performance mode=90 RWHP

Extreme mode =130 RWHP

No mention anywhere about torque

Will using this power pup void the warranty?

Will it increase fuel mileage?

any perfromance box CAN void warranty. depends on the dealer, if something goes wrong and is caused by the box, if they see the box, etc etc... just remember when u start bombing say " I am my own warranty station "

i havent been bitten by the bug YET...

Like was said before, any box can void the warranty, thoughi t really depends on how your dealer reacts to mods. I happen to have a performance friendly dealer, so I'm not too concerned about him thinking that any mod I've done to the truck is the cause for whatever problems may arise.

As for fuel mileage, all boxes can increase fuel mileage some. However, it really depends on your driving style. If you set the box on kill and can't keep your foot out of it, odds are you'll have worse mileage than you do now. On the other hand, if you set it on a lower power level and don't feel the urge to leave smoke (both tire and exhaust) at every red light, you'll probably see an increase in mileage. How much is, though, varies from truck to truck.

One more dumb question. Does the Power Pup come with a boost elbow to increase boost to deal with the extra fuel, or does it just do boost fooling in the ECM and let the turbo do it's own thing? If it doesn't come with an elbow, would adding one help out with any potential EGT problems that may arise by not having one (provided it does boost fooling)?

No the power pup doesn't come with a boost elbow. On your 2003 you can add your own or simply plug your wastegate. You will not have potential EGT problems if you run the pup on the lower two levels, while leaving everything else how it is. Unless of course you tow heavy.

No towing for me, and if I do it will never be anything really heavy. Just wondering if I need to invest in a method to alter the wastegate function on the Extreme setting.

Linear X - If you get the pup and run it on the extreme level you will be able to make more boost than what your wastegate is set at because you will be pushing more fuel than the wastegate can release past the turbine wheel. Most poeple see 29-30 PSI with the wastegate functioning. Stock it is setup to not make much over 24PSI. The safest thing to do if you are going to run on extreme level with stock turbo is to leave the wastegate how it is, or run a boost elbow or similar. I would probably recommend against plugging it. Because if you start stacking boxes and doing other upgrades you will easily overspin that tiny turbo.

Bigdad: put something in the hose that runs between the actuator and compressor housing. This will make the actuator not open.
