bullydog 4' muffler sounds high pitched?

wife says i am a sissy - i finally put a muffler on my strait pipe
pics in my gallery

i got a bullydog 4 inch stainless steel glasspack for cheap,
and i assumed that it would muffle a little (not much since straight through)

but it's actually a lot quieter, VERY nice.

now - for the wifes "I TOLD YOU SO"

the strait pipe before was Basso Profundo - it just resonated off SUV's and was super deep & sounded awesome. (except for road trips, or when you try to hear someone in back seat)

now - when you stomp it sounds like a whiny high pitched sissy truck.
you can hear the turbo spooling or something, but it sounds awful when you get on it.

but with windows up & AC on, life is good.

will a video of a WOT pass this week.

any recommendations?

added a video of walk around with the muffler at idle,
but did not do a "drive by"

here's the strait pipe:

here's all the videos (go to gallery view for more - page 3)

go back to straight?

does a tip really do anything? i think it alters sound a little but not much.

different muffler? i have heard an aeroturbine and think it sounds awful on a cummins....you may be describing the same sound.

I tamed mine by using a cat....my truck came with a cat since its an 05. with the cat and no muffler, it was ok. no cat and no muffler was LOUD.....gutted cat with No muffler sounds good to me!

play around with it...see what you can change.

i don't think i can go back straight - no matter how cool

rode ~7 hours yesterday, felt good, could talk to wife, could hear radio,
just much more enjoyable

With the strait pipe, i was getting "fatigued" by the incessant loud noise.
i can hear the stock radio on Vol 10~12 now

the turbo screams thru the FIPK. and you can REALLY hear it now. i want more peace & quiet, i will do something with it next.

the aeroturbine is prolly the same, just not a COOL sound.
i tried to rattle the pipe off a few SUV's with the muffler, did not work, wife says it's just not intimidating anymore.

i don't care. my ears aren't tired

Muffler.

A tip will do a lot!! It is just like a megaphone the bigger the tip the more the sound resonates off the walls. I just took my 5" inside diamater tip off and put a 6" inside diamater tip on and holy S**t. My truck isn't straight piped, I have a Rokktech muffler and it is just louder than stock but there is a heck of a difference with the tip. It is definately deafening but you know I am going by you when I pass. I will try and get my digital camera this week and post pic's.
