Built Tranny owners only: Question

I installed my full race Goerend Tranny. I'm running Crazy larry with Tq Mgt delete and low end fueling. I also have installed my GDP Competion kit w/ 2 mk filter. I have not received my Stage 2 CP3 or injectors yet.

Here's my question. My truck seems to have lost all low end, it take forever for the Turbo (Silver 62) to light now. It was a monster with the stock tranny. The TC is a 15 blade left cut. I was told these are tight, but I've never heard anyone say they could noticibly feel a difference. It's hard to spin the tires now unless I powerbrake, where before with my looser stock converter, I could light the tires no problem...... now once my truck hits 10-15 mph.... hold on, cause she'll run like a scalded ape..... it also smokes probably double what it did with the stock tranny, like it's bogging down for a bit??

anyone have a similar occurance????

Dave said that he could give me a looser converter, but doesn't that defeat the purpose???

I noticed that too. Seems to get more power to the wheels though, you just have to get the right combination of turbo, injectors, & boxes.

I would say stack a pressure box with boost fooling and that should help get the turbo spooling quicker. The tighter tc will load things up and you need the extra fuel down low. Just my .02. I have Dunrite 3disc low stall TC and BTDT with torque management delete or Smarty with Moderate torque management can still use a little pressure down low. I can definitely tell when I remove my EZ, no matter what the other pieces of the stack are.

If you are feeling a vibration, it's probably a U joint from all the power.

That's the lower stall and tighter converter doing that right there. Once you get your injectors and cp3 in the converter will loosen up some. My dtt was incredibly tight and after a 1000 miles or so it loosened up a bit and now it's great. The more power you add the looser the converter will get/feel. It's not hurting the converter, that's just the nature of the beast.

with my bigger turbo i lost some pep off the line....lots harder to spin 'em below 25mph. but at 25 mph, i can break them loose and go sideways!!!

just about everything you described is like Tyler said....the nature of the beast!

My truck really woke up on the bottom end when I put in the injectors. The edge really seems to help on the bottom too,, I think that after Iget a better cp3 and a pressure box I think I can tune it in even better

Let me tell you, Dave is a stand up guy, he told me to test it out, be it a few weeks or years, don't matter, just call him and he'll make is looser for racing, or tighter for sled pullin..... This was the best investment with my truck that I have made.....

The GDP Comp kit with big line made a big difference too, the modded CP3 will definately fuel the beast.
How are yalls shifts, my 1-2 is really hard, the 2-3 is hard dependent on the rpms, if it's low, it will shift hard, if I'm WOT, it's smooth as a baby's butt....

1-2 is firm, 2-3 is softer, 3-4 is smooth as can be, and WOT you don't even realize it's shifting it's so smooth.

Mine also shifts like that, drive to od can be a little rough depending on throttle posistion. If you are at mid throttle the turbo will bark a bit, but you can drive around that
