Built tranny- How many got Billet front Drum clutch?

I was talking with Dave when I was ordering my tranny. He mentioned the billet front drum? He said he's never heard of what crapping out, but should I pony up more money and get it too? I may eventually go above 600, but not any time soon.....

Here's Dave's Quote: "For trucks that are drag racing or entered in sled pulling events, all of the above upgrades would apply. We can also add a front clutch drum made of stronger steel with a larger apply area for much more holding power in 3rd gear. This drum will also take a higher rpm before exploding. This can happen if the rear roller clutch fails. When the roller clutch fails the high gear drum will spin at engine rpm x the reverse gear ratio of 2.21. A 5000 rpm free rev X 2.21 = ll,050 rpm of the front clutch drum. The stock front clutch drum can come apart at about 9000 rpm.

I got the bolt in the one way roller clutch ($200), did anyone get the billet front clutch drum?

I got one, and my tranny is from Dave. Can't say for sure if I really neaded it or not. But I do drag mine from time to time and didn't want to take the chance.

Thanks Luken, I was waiting for you.... I would like to put down your numbers and still be ok.... Did you get the bolt in one way roller?

I guess everyone convinced me to go with the SPS 6280.... do I need the HX40 downpipe with Auto? And of course the GDP 392..and ARP studs... Man you guys are going to bankrupt me..... thought the tranny $$ was bad.... I don't think this ever ends.....

You won't put down Luken's numbers with a 6280.

Did you order your GDP 392 direct from Glacier? I'd like to see what you make, then I'll make my decision on the SPS 6280 or the 66.
