i might pick up a s400 to go under my stocker for a twins setup. my question is...where can i get parts to build them (flanges, tubbing, maybe some directions?) also...would i have to use a 2nd gen manifold?

Nathan at MPI has Stock turbo/ S400 kits. I've read that piecing your own kit can cost as much or more than buying the kit already together. My Phat Shaft 62/14 is at MPI now being setup with GT42. Here is a Link to the MPI webpage.

Nathan (MPI) is great. I got my stock/s400 kit about 2 weeks ago. Really nice workmanship. Compare prices and look at the craftsmanship. There are a lot of pictures here of his kits installed.

These are just two posts I know of, do a search, you'll find more.
He goes by Idaho CTD, on both the turbodieselregister.com and dieseltruckresource.com. He's been around a long time.
I emailed some people who had his kits, everybody couldn't speak highly enough of him (AND the workmanship)
His kits cover the range from 500 hp(towing) to 1000 hp (might be more but I know that much) whatever you want.

A few weeks ago I installed a Super B/GT4202 set-up Nathan made for me (using the Super B from my ex-BD twins kit). They spool freakin' ridiculously fast! You will not be disapppointed! Work's slowed down a bit so I'll get around to finally doing a post with pics this weekend.

When I built my twins, I got alot of stuff at a great price through some members on here and still they cost me probably close to $3000 and it was tons of hours...no regrets at all but to get them half decent looking it takes time and money. I'll probably be building another set sometime but if I had better things to do with my time...Nathan would be the way to go....great service and his twins work well. I used a 3rd gen manifold...I don't think it flows as well as the 2nd gen due to the sharper bends but it does put the twins up high and forward. KS

RamRodd,
I got the stock/s400 kit which comes with everything except the stock turbo, you use the stock turbo that you already have with the truck. Two reasons I got this kit-1) Unless I'm wrong, 650 hp will be enough for me (esp. with my standard cab/2WD 2) I didn't see the reason for going for a s300 because it makes 100 hp more, with a little more lag (for $1000 + more). Also Nathan said he's checking into upgrades of the stock hy9 to improve it so another s300 isn't needed (IF I decide on more hp eventually).
Unless you can run into used parts at a real good price, or can fabricate your own and have time, I don't think you can beat the price for the stock/s400 kits, and the finished product probably won't look as good. I know I checked around. Don't forget tech support from someone who has done it before, LOTS of times. The big companies can't give you the depth of support or detail MPI will.
I'm not into extreme colors myself, but he offers the piping in all the colors from Tigerdrylac.com or CardinalPaint.com. RyeThomas got the smooth silver https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=171068.

Finished product worth every very large bill I had to pay . Oh and for some reason the pics make the welds stand out alot more than they do in person.
