i was tuning in the ppe hot xcelerator ,a bit of ts powerplay and a bunch of other fuel today and i think my flex plate let loose.got kind of a throaty noise to it ,thought exhaust leak at first.but i got to looking and removed inspection cover and the flex plate ans tq con would wobble almost.5 inch when i pried wiuth a pinch bar.tranny comes out tommorrow but this prolly kills my chances of going to commerce with the goat this weeknd

Its all that power. How much does it take to break a flex plate? And is that something that needs to be looked at when going over 500 ponies? Good luck to you on getting that fixed.

i am not so sure about all that power.my flex plate lasted for a good bit of abuse,however in the last few days i have done lots of wrenching and modifieng,and i also got my hot juice back from edge.all the new fuel and how wickedly hard the edge comes in was to much for it when the tq con locked up.i think my old flex plate did ok at about 500 hp for about 7000 miles,but perhaps the new mods have given me the desired results i am after

 

And those results are BREAKING your flex plate?

Or more power which happens to break your flext plate.

 

Guys, IMHO the stock flexplate is only good if you have short legs and can't reach the go pedal or only bought your truck to take grandma to bingo. It is more flexible than a chev 350 flexplate. They must have bribed someone to get an SFI stamp on that after warranty problem waiting to happen. Sorry to sound bitter ks

 

got the flex plate out,broken completley.installed a laminated plate from suncoast,dont think il have this problem any more thanks Joe Webb..
