Which Box

I was to the point of ordering a box for my truck and had decided on the Bully Dog DL with Outlook I read some posts about the quality of the outlook not being to good, mainly the plug in the back. And I am not convinced about the download part of it. Then I read where the Juice with Attitude was ready to ship today 12/20. Then I read where it had been postponed again. Which I am not surprised about. Now I have been reading about the TST Power max, and I don't know what to do. I don't plan on doing anything to my tranny and the main thing i am looking for is slight power and economy, with any of the above choices I was going to get a digital gauge setup for EGT. So what are your opinions about which is best? Or should I just go with manual gauges and a Edge EZ?

IMO, you (and your wallet) would probably be best served by an Edge EZ, and an EGT gauge. Use the SRT-10 pillar for a nice, clean, factory-looking install. Put a DiPricol analog gauge in it, wire it up, and enjoy the new-found power.

I agree with Tom, get a small pressure box (like the Edge EZ) and a pyrometer.

my ez is now up for sell due to my new bullydog pup. best thing for me so far. the ez idled rough in cold tems, with not much out of the hole pulling power. only running my pup on performance, doubt i'll ever run extreme, but so far it is great temps seem lower but have not pulled heavy yet.

I have the bd-dl with it on performance i had some of the original issues with the outlook but they sent me a up dated one and it took care of the to heavy defueling and the max boost not being correct as of now; as a combination it works great !pulls from the bottom all the way to the top. was waiting for the juice and that has been two years and no show, had the ez and it was ok but it wasnt as smooth or good on the fuel econmay i get at 75%power set and 70 mph about 24 -25 mpg and 14-15 hard pull on 8 %grade with wind on level and slight hills i get 16-17,i pull the truck and a 12000# plus the loaded goodies 1000# extra fifth wheel,at full power about the same on pulling but a little less normal driving and that may be because of my foot .i have airaid intake ,airaid mit tube ,4 inch exhaust and magnaflow muff, bomber lite piers turbo, increased locking pressure, and mod. shift body:havent dynoed it but it is a whole different truck let me know if you want any other info

Yes, it does. We see 22 from time to time on the overhead and it can calculate back to less than 17. Pressure boxes will fool the over head too. The ECM is calculating the fuel economy from the TPS. It does not understand the pressure is higher and the injected fuel quantity is higher.

I'm in the same situation with my truck now. I was considering the Bully Dog Downloader. I already have guages so I don't want to put in the Outlook. I was looking for something with in cab adjustability and the ability to turn it on and off. I was looking at the Van Aaken Smartbox or the Banks Six Gun w/o the Speed Loader. Any one have any comments on either of these two boxes.

I tried the Predator, and the Edge EZ. I didn't care for either one, especially the predator because my truck wouldn't even start with it on there. I went with the TST that comes with gauges and I love it. Just personal preference I guess. Good luck.

I was not overly impressed with the banks six gun on my truck

it had an excellent amount of power but didnt come on smoothly
either on or off (explanation I got on this is trucks with a TPS dont have this problem, I have a PPS)
install wasnt too bad but I have a wire with a nick in it for the dealer to find and a
hole in my dash for the power level switch

I love my tst except for the occasional miss and a slipping clutch (oops, my bad)
power is very nice and smooth and easy to control and 21mpg vs 17 stock is nice too

cant speak for any other boxes

You might also consider the Edge Juice with Attitude as that will give you the gauges with the power module for your 2005.
