Is it the BOX?
Well about two weeks ago I went ahead and had a performance tranny installed on my truck and I installed the Walbro kit myself once I got home. Both of these additions are great, HUGE difference. The problem is that when I turn my Edge up to 5 and hammer it the truck s*#@% and gets but, my EGT's hit 1200 in about 10-15 sec . What the heck is going on and how hot is unsafe? Does anyone else have this problem with there Edge. The one addition that I really belive that I need is 4" exhaust. According to theory that alone should lower my EGT's somewhat.

if you pyro is pre-turbo....i would say that your in pretty good shape!! 15 sec, is prolly almost the 1/4 for you and too be sitting at ONLY 1200* is good!!
as for how hot is safe?? everyone has their own cautions and recommendations, but from what my cummins guy tells me is these engines can withstand 1200- 1300* driving for long periods of time!! However he also said anything higher than 1400* should only be experianced for very short time like 5 sec.

1200 is perfectly fine my 05 runs up to 1200 stock. I also have the edge but it seems the higher I turn mine up the egts decrease. But 1200 is ok it is the 1400 mark you need to be concerned about.

My Juice/A2 is to alert me at 1200 and defuel at 1350...ran the quarter several times and it has only defueled once...i did a whitesmoke show then ran the quarter and it cut my fuel off 3/4 of the way down the track...still ran 14.6 though.
it alerting me at 1200 is nothing new...don't worry about it too bad...but since i have an 05 i have 4 inch exhaust.....you may want to give that a shot.

1200 is nothing but a 4" exhaust will help lower those temps some, especially if you replace the elbow off the turbo with one that's 4" on both ends. Ours are 4" off the turbo and 3.5" on the other end....
1200 degrees is as high as mine gets with my TST stacked with the old EZ. I'm waiting for my MP-8 to get here and I'll be checking the numbers then...
When I ran the Quad Race/VA C3.2 stack my temps got up to 1500 degrees!!!

Like everyone else said, 1200° is nothing. I once saw 1600° with the SP Diesel Eliminiator box, but that was once for a couple seconds. That box has since been returned and is loooong gone. I can barely get over 1300 with the Juice, even while towing 6000lbs up a 12% grade, hammer down in 4th gear. Unloaded I rarely touch 1200, but if I get on it and stay on it on level 5.5 it'll climb up there.
