Boost bolt for 04.5
Just wondering if any of you have used a boost bolt on your 600 to hook up the boost instead of drilling and taping, I've seen them on the 03 but they look a little different, if so where can I get one and where does it go?
Thanks....Mark

I used a boost bolt in my original installation but had to remove it to send the gauges back to SPA to have it checked out. It turns out nothing was wrong except some funny setting that I might have done and the power source I was using. Anyway, the second time I install the boost bolt it broke off when I was torqing it down. I used a spiral easy out to remove it and it just spun out by using my fingers. I am glad I didn't have to drill it because of it being hollow. I ended up drilling and tapping the air intake housing and it was easier than I thought. I removed it first and cleaned real good before re-installing it.

Will they both get the same reading? and one more thing whats the best way to wire the power for these gauges I have EGT, Boost, Fuel pres. I have a wiring harness under the right air vent that is not being used (what is that for?) I was just wondering if there is a lighting wire there?

You should get the same reading. Be carefull about what wires you use to power your gauge. My first setup was a splice into the wire that powers the overhead computer. At first it worked okay, but later I started to get erratic readings. That is why I sent my gauge back to SPA for a check up. This time around I wired it to the cigarette lighter. I also had a radar detector plugged into the cigarette lighter and after a couple of days I blew a fuze. I am now using the power accessory port on the dash to power the radar detector. I hope I don't blow anymore fuzes.
As for the wiring harness on the right side, I cannot tell you what they are. I wish I could and then I would be a genius. As you can see by the troubles I have been having I am not. Take this link to Dodge Body Builders Guide for the wiring diagram. http://www.dodge.com/bodybuilder/ Good luck.

I used a Quick Splice to tap into the power wires. You should be able to get them at the auto supply store. Here is an illustration.
