Biodiesel
What percent Biodiesel can be run in a 2006 Cummins Engine if at all?
I run 100% biodiesel in my 1990 Cummins Engine.
Sunday my son come over to my house and had me fill his tank up with about 30 gallons of B100 that I make.
He called me from the freeway and said that he could only run about 30 mph on the biodiesel.
So what is the scope with 2006 engines.

Got a call from my son this morning.
He said that the full tank of 100% biodiesel cleaned his fuel tank with all the crud plugging his fuel filter.
After he changed the filter, the engine ran quieter and smoother compared to running Diesel.

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...

He'll need to change the filter again probably. After that Cummins says 20% of Bio is acceptable in the common rails. Main reason is the high pressure the fuel is injected. The bio does not like it. There are some who have been running 50% in the summer with no issues though. I would just slowly increase the amount one tankful at a time to see how it reacts.
