Biodiesel
If you run out of diesel and the only thing around is a few gallons vegie oil can you run your diesel on it until the next fuel station? Do you need to add anything too it? ???

Re:Biodiesel
That's akin to getting drunk on straight corn mash. It's a little more complicated that that.

Here's a recipe:
http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_mike.html

Chris

Re:Biodiesel
Thank you but Way to much info
Sorry should have added unused vegie oil. The type you would by from a store. What needs to be done to get you to the next fuel stop?

Re:Biodiesel
Let me stand somewhat corrected. I found this quote at the following site:
Diesel engines can also be run on unmodified vegetable oil, if the oil is heated or mixed with other fuels. Using waste vegetable oil this can be an amazingly inexpensive and ecological alternative fuel.

http://www.dancingrabbit.org/biodiesel/index.html

But, I don't know that I am confident enough to pour a gallon of Wesson oil into my tank yet. It says you need to dilute it with something else or heat it to reduce the viscosity.
http://www.dancingrabbit.org/biodies..._oil_fuel.html

Chris
