"Big Rig" Tire and wheel idea for SRW...

I can't afford to do it myself but I like the looks of the 22.5 semi wheels on the duallys (I am sure they ride like crap also) but I was trying to imagine a set to Big Rig wheels on a SRW and it just wouldn't look right... Then I got thinking about those new tire / wheel combos they are putting on tanker trucks that replace the Duals with one wide single. I wonder what those would look like all the way around on a SRW truck... I am thinking if there is clearance they would be awsome looking....

So one of you guys with too much money and want to be different, Have at it and lets see the results... make me jelous ....

American Force wheels sells the "floats" or wide disk single wheels setups for single rear wheel trucks. Requires an 8 - 10 lug conversion. I could only imagine the price for a setup like that!

there is not much info listed on the website about the the single disk setups. It says on the website in the photo section that the 22.5 inch wheels will fit on a stock height dodge DRW. Give them a call poke around, see what you can get. You wont gain much, mostly looks. Im sure the singles can hold more weight but theres still the legality issues of how much your gonna tow with a 2500.

I think im going to call them up tomorrow and see how much a set of the super single run with tires and how big the tires are that you have to run on them.. I wonder if they make a super single semi tire around a 35" or 315 tire.. because i really dont want to lift my truck i like it with jus the leveling kit..

well it would only be like a 265...the distance from the rim is where you getteh 265, 275, 285 ect...and the the 35 is how tall.. so the sizing is WAY off

A true "super single" are going to be way too big for a stock height truck. The smallest tire i've seen is 385/65/22.5 which is 42" tall.

You would probably be better off running a regular 22.5 with a wider offset and try to find a more normal size tire.

It would be a hard fit, but IMO the 385's would look awesome on a 3rd gen. I'm gonna try to make it work

iker42, 265 etc has nothing to do with the rim, its the width of the tire in millimeters. So a 315/70r17 is 315 mm wide (11.93"), the side wall is 70% of the width (8.35"). 11.93 + 8.35 + 8.35 = 33.7" tall tire, mathematically anyway.

I thought it had to do with the distance from the eged of the rim to the oppisit edge of the tire...My bad
