II SPS 62/14 is a great choice for all around performance. What year is your truck?

You won't get fast spool with a bigger turbo, there will be a moderate amount of lag at take off.

Mine always lagged a little, even when I had a Smarty turned all the way up. Now if I eased on the throttle, it spooled good. With the Striker II it does the same thing with about 1/4 throttle. Take off easy, and it spools good. Same w/ it removed.

Twins typically don't spool faster than stock, even with a stock turbo up top. The rule of thumb is that twins will fuel a little slower than if the top turbo was used as a single. However they keep spooling.

A daily driver single I would pick would be an HTT 62/65/13ss, or ps62.

I would agree with rmalone in regards to the choice of singles.
Hightech makes a good charger as well as Industrial, but the size is what I'm agreeing with the most , not so much the brand.
My personal preference for the $ is the Phatshaft 62/12-65 in Tennessee's application.

My bad, I thought you could modify a stocker to spool faster and use it as the top turbo.

it would be ideal if twins would spool quicker than stock, but it doesn't work that way, typically.

I have an A2K that's a few years old and it's as quick or maybe a little quicker than the stocker. Since then, ATS improved the A3K so it's as quick as the A2K and they dropped the A2K. My old A2K will still support (cool egt) the Pred 160 hp no problem and could do more. I'm sold on Aurora turbos! The A3K is rated 100 more hp (550hp) than the A2K. Craig

I have heard the A2k was as fast as stock. I'm shocked the A3k would support 550hp AND spool as fast as stock, but I know nothing about them.

On another note there is some talk that the Garrett ball bearing turbos spool as fast as stock while supporting far more airflow than stock, again I really don't know.

If you have the coin don't let "a little slower than stock" keep you from going with twins. They are in all other ways superior to singles. Were all partial to the brands we spent money on, so my thoughts are a HTT 62/65/13ss to use as a single then later call Nathan at MPI for a GT4202 or S400 and the rest of a twins kit. This way makes twins a little less hurtful from a pocket book standpoint.

My vote for fast spooling and using for a daily driver is the BD Super B. Spools quick and can be later upgraded to twins when you want more.
For a daily driver it's a great turbo, tows better than stock also, yet if your planning on racing or sled plulling or running the dyno you might want to look at bigger.
