Best Chip/Programmer

Hey I'm getting an '04.5 dodge 6speed 4x4 dully here in the next couple of days. It is completly stock. I plan on putting a 4 or 5in ehaust on there and gauges. What would be the best chip/programer to install on the truck. I know banks sucks I had that on my old ford before I got the DP tuner for it so I know to stay a long way from those guys. I've liked edge attitude, bully dog, and I have heard TST and Smarty are all good. If anyone has some more input to a new cummins guy that would be great. Also I plan I keeping the chip/programer in for a bit. maybe stack latter on down the line in a year or 2, baby on the way so things will be a bit tighter. I just want the most bang for my buck, also I plan on putting in a new SB clutch the FE model.

Thanks,
Adam

If thats the case I'd spend a $100 bucks or less on a muffler and IF you make that much H.P.in the future THEN go 5 inch. But IF not your not out much $

hmm, thats good to know. Also what box/programer do you all think is a good place to start. I have been looking at TST pretty close. It looks like some thing that can make some really good power and pretty easy to tune to your needs.

Do you plan on upgrading the clutch? If so, run a smarty, lots of options with it. Or the edge juice w/attitude. Quad makes very nice products too, and their commander looks real sweet too. It kinda depends on what you plan on doing the most,, racing, towing, street driving, highway driving,, etc. Let us know and we will give you some idea's

Oh yeah I do plan on putting in a new clutch in pretty soon after I get it. I plan on putting in a SB Con FE clutch, that should be able to handle it. My buddy with a '98 cummins pushes 500h.p. plus with his and it handles it fine. Well I plan on using it for about everything from daily driver to towing 12-15K to racing and just screwing around.

Well even though I havent tried it yet, I think that I would maybe start with a smary. You can buy them from Lary here. The support is awesome. I havent tried one yet, but plan on it in the near future. After that you will need bigger turbo, especially if you are towing, the 6280 that I have is IMHO the perfect towing turbo, I pull a 13k 5th wheel, and never run into egt problems. Also dont forget about guages, pyro is a neccesity, I started with pyro, boost and tranny temp (which you wont need due to manual tranny) , but a fuel pressure guage is nice, and if you really start to bomb, then a rail guage. Then shortly after the turbo you are going to need more fuel, either the fass or the glacier kit are good. The list goes one, with these mods you will be well into the 400's in rwhp. Hope that helps out

Thanks for the info. I already have gauges as the first thing on my list.
