You might check out S&B I ordered mine yesterday. They dont HYPE HP. gains and you still pull cool air from the stock fender well inlet. The price is more inline with what I thought a performance filter should be priced.

i just put the AFE stage 2 on. It seems to spool up better. allot of extra turbo noise though.

They do flow better than stock. Do you need that much flow for stock, prob not. but when did that matter?

I do like mine, I will take some pics later today then post some.

Look in my gallery I have a S&B Box also. I made some of my own modification, as well as adding a cold air kit that attaches to the bottom of the box and extends down near the bumper. its the best setup I've owned yet. I have the BHAF, ScottyIII, and the AEM Bruteforce.

I'm running the Volant and like it quite a bit, but in my opinion....they're all overpriced by at least a $100 or so. It's just a filter and some stupid plastic for crying out loud. At least the Volant comes with a cool looking box/cover. I'd get the Volant all over again. The AFE is the most overpriced of them all.

I installed a Scotty III couple weeks ago. You can definitely feel the difference from stock. The MPG overhead also indicated an improvement but have not actually hand calc verified it yet, another mod got it the way.

We sell the AFE, and you do get what you pay for. We have tested most of the air intake systems on the market. We found that the AFE did provide better air flow and filtering for our wants and needs.

Maybe the AFE is overpriced, but I like what ours is doing and would never hesitate to go AFE again and again.

But its your truck and your money, so add what you need to not just what we tell you we like. Also use the search feature here and you can see what each air intake has for comments, likes and dislikes.

I am running the AFE Stage 1 with PGM7. Yes it did improve driveablity and reduce EGT by 50 degrees. Very happy with it. Filtration is a good as stock or better. I am also using a AFE Prefilter. I have used many oil type filters and hate cleaning the bugs and junk out of the pleats so I got the prefilter to eliminate this issue. Get what you pay for.

I would not knock any brand. My preference is a dryfilter. I just don't like the oiled filters, neither does cummins. Right now Dryflow is the only aftermarket dryfilter. It is a cone shape that runs for about 46.00. Fram is also coming out with a dry filter system in about a month. Not much info on them yet. The picture shown on the web may not be the dodge setup.

just installed my s&b intake today. according to the president of the company- it filters and flows better than the PGM7. he said the independant testing on this will be on their website shortly. plus s&b's new air filters have eight layers of cotton.

No the box is the S&B the filter (Grey) is the AEM dryflow. I'm switching back and fourth between the S&B oil filter and the dryguard, then watching the gauge numbers.
The S&B Filter I have according to the box is only four layers

I am interested in the S&B intake for my truck. The web site says the filter is 8 layers thick. My concern is that it appears the filter box just pulls air from the stock opening, if this is true how would it be any different from my current setup? I have a drop in AFE PG7 with the bottom of my filter box swiss cheesed. Can anyone who has the S&B setup shed any light on this for me? Thanks
