BDDL Power Pup vs Triple Dog
BDDL Power Pup vs Triple Dog
Sorry to ask this... but what really is the difference between the two? Is there an advantage to one or the other. From what I have been able to glean by searching threads, is that the triple dog can work with Ford and Chevy aswell? Correct me if Im wrong. I hope some of the users of these can chime in to help me decide what to expect. I have an 05.
Yes, the triple dog works with all three. You can also leave the triple dog hooked up all the time, however, when I was doing this it would "kick off" the program and return to the stock setting. The triple dog also has a couple of features like turning on the high idle ect.
Be warned though, what bully dog advertises and what will actually work on your truck are two different animals. I think that is more of an issue for us 03-04.5 owners instead of 04.5+. I would still recommend the downloader, just make sure that if you are looking for a specific feature that they offer, call first and make sure it will work on your truck.

I am running the triple dog, they are a decent company, a little misleading in their advertising, but their customer service is good, slow, but good.
It does make nice power, especially when stacked with a TST! And they need to come out with a Crazy Larry program for the 03's.

The TripleDog is great. I have only had it for a month or so. I have done alot of towing with this thing on different settings and as long as you watch your gauges this thing rocks on the performance setting. If you are not running gauges stick to the tow setting for towing, my egt's have never got too high with tow setting. Another feature is upgrading through the internet.
For 95% of the time, my truck is a daily (speeder?) driver and I pull my bass boat, which tips the scales at 1600 lbs. I dont think that would be a concern for any of the settings. Im hoping to run the performance 24/7. maybe the extreme, unless it slips my stock 48re.
the other 5% Im pulling various things, like my buddies rock crawling truck and whatnot... I think the max I have had behind my truck was 10 or 11k, but thats every once in a blue moon.
I just want to eat up cars and trucks that make me unhappy
