Racing the wifes RX300, @ about 60 mph the Six-gun defueled and started the 4-2 tranny TC slipping code. This is after 20,000 miles w/ the 6gun on, never happened before now. My question is what to do now, what upgrade keeps the TC locked up if thats the problem. I dont plan on any other mods and I dont want to spend thousands on tranny upgrades, I would rather just trade her in on a new 05. Can I get away w/ the line pressure boosting kit, do I need a new TC? Am I lucky its just now happening, I'm sure it will only get worse on hard take offs right? Shift kit? What do you guys think?

If its slipping.....then its only gonna get worse.

2 choices....

1) Upgrade the tranny the right way (TC & Valve Body)
2) Disconnect the Six-Gun, and run stock.

Being cheap here will only kick you in the butt later, causing the whole trans to go south.

 

Can I get away w/ just the TC, the Banks senses 3% slippage between input and output shafts of the stock TC. Will a heavy duty TC due the job (for my mods) or just delay my transmission nightmares? Is the rest of the tranny going to go out?

 

I went with the valve body and converter. Works very well and no problems since. The valve body helps by raising line pressure which will make the clutches and bands grab better causing less internal slippage.......

 

But if it keeps sensing slippage, it will keep shutting down.......

 

Torque convertor, vavle body and look into BD diesel performance pressureloc it is a pneumatic ram that takes over line pressure verses your throttle pedal linkage controlling it. at 20% throttle it will increase line pressure to 60-70% instead of 20%
