Banks Six Gun
Just filled for the first time with the Banks Six running on 3.
The power is most definately there. My fuel mileage also went up to 14.7mpg for my normal city driving. That's up from 12mpg.
I check out the difference in towing in about 2 weeks.

I wish my EZ would give me a little boost in MPG. I'm right at 14.5 - 15 in mostly city traffic everyday. If I pull the EZ off I get 1-2 mpg better in the city. If I went back to stock tires it might go up too. Oh well, I'll live with it.......
Congrats on the increase....

Is your milage calculated by hand, or are you relying on the overhead "Computer" readout?
Those "Magic" boxes confuse the ECM/PCM so your milage WILL vary.

MPG is calculated by hand. I've been running the overhead without resetting it for the last 3 months since I put on the TRI-GARD system to see what difference it makes

Grand Geek,
I need to correct my previous post; although the part number for the 325/600 does exist and orders can be placed, those Six-Guns have not shipped yet. If you have a 325/600, then you are correct, those parts are not out in the world yet.
For those that are interested, we do have a new calibration for the Six-Gun for the 235, 250 and 305 HP trucks. If you already have a Six-Gun and you are looking for better acceleration characteristics, the new calibration will be appropriate for you. Six-Guns that were programmed after 6/20/04 have the newer calibration in them. If you are unsure whether you may have the new or old calibration, look at the small label on the back side of the Six-Gun. It will say Gale Banks Engineering and will have 2 numbers. If the first number is 62976-05E, then you have the latest program. If it is anything else (most likely ending in a “C”) it is an earlier calibration. If you are interested in having it reflashed, just send it in to us and it will be done free of charge. You pay the shipping one way, we will pay the return shipping. To make arrangements, call Banks Customer Service at (888) 839-5600 or Banks Technical Support at (888) 839-2700.

I contacted Banks today to have mine recalibrated. They wouldn't give me specific numbers, but he told me you will definately notice an increase in each level with levels 5 and 6 pushing out some black smoke.... oh yah.... I'm sending mine back tomorrow....
For those of you sending yours back.... your six-gun came with a white 8 pin connector with 4 looped black wires, you will need to plug this in to the 8 pin harness that you unplug from the six gun, this is a bypass so your truck will run without you having to completely reconnect everything stock.

blownaway,
The changes primarily focus on the rate at which fuel is introduced in relationship to boost. By allowing a more rapid/aggressive fuel “ramp-in” rate, the truck responds much better on a rapid throttle application. Of course, one of the by-products is smoke, which will always be the case when you have a mismatch of air and fuel. Top end power will not change dramatically, but the rate at which you get there will be much better.

Ok Peter - how about some HP/Tourque specs for the 03/04 Trucks? We've all seen what it does for the SO on the website. I dint need exact figures but apx. how much gain and at what RPM's?

I have had my six gun in the truck for about a week now. It totally depends on the load input as to when the box, "kicks in" I dont really "feel" any change in setting two, but three wakes it up pretty good. I then placed it in setting six for a quick burst, and it caught me WAY off guard!! the truck almost spun in a 180 degree spin, before I knew what happened! all this coming from a 250 hp! I only did the mod for towing, and I think you would be VERY happy with the results from the six gun.

I shipped out my six-gun two days ago, and I miss the heck out of it.... my truck seems like it turned into a constipated turtle. This thing just dont move like it did.....One more week and I'm back to the power again....

Banks Six Gun available for 600
I spoke to Banks today, they are now shipping the 6 gun for the 600CTD. I'm wondering what system is best now that there are more options available for this motor. Any ideas/ recommendations?
