Auxilary Transmission filter
Auxilary Transmission filter
I was thinking of adding a spin on type filter on the line out of the trans to the cooler. There is short section of rubber hose that I can remove and hookup the filter head easily. What micron filter would be best? Is there one from Felltguard that would be best or is a fram PH8A like the one in the summit racing transmission filter kit good enough. I am goin to piece my own together localy so it all fits better for my specific application.
here is an example of what im talkin about.

Be careful with pressure drop (filter resistance) when using an aftermarket filter for the trans. I dont know about recently, but in the past some have tried it and starved the trans of oil (cooling and lubrication).
You may try calling a trans performance shop. I hear a lot of good on this site from georends and DTT.

The stocker has a filter in it, and most don't recomend changing that out untill 50K or so miles. I would just drop the pan and replace that one. Lots to chance with a filter. Unless you plan on changing the filter more which you shouldn't due to more surface area than the stocker?? I would just change the stocker every 50 and call it good (you gota drain the fluid or flush it anyway)
