aux fuel tanks

one thing i have not seen discused is if you can use and aux tank with a plastic bedliner, will it work, I have one that came with the truck, and I want and aux tank, last time i went camping i spent 45 mins at the gas stationg filling up because i was pulling my camper and could only fit at one pump. and a bunch of stupid non diesel cars kept cutting in line. at that point i decided i needed an aux tank and never have that problem again...

Go here and talk to them if yo have a long bed
http://supertanks.com/

They now make a replacement tank that I believe is 50 or 60 gallons. That way yo don't even have to put it in the bed

I put the RDS 60 gallon combination tool box in mine:

With shipping the tank/tool box was just over $600.

Did you install the tank yourself? Is the 6way valve a big deal?

I also put a 51 gal Black powdercoated diamondplate tool/tank combo from RDS in. I installed mine via gravity feed, however a little different than fiverbob's setup. He drilled and tapped the fuel filler neck, while I simply 't'ed into the fuel overflow hose, which saved the time and hassle of removing the fuel filler neck, and drilling/tapping it. I also installed a 2 micron Racor fuel filter/separator in line between the main and aux tank, and ran a hose with a 2 micron breather filter coming off the tank's vent so that no dirty air is sucked into the tank when displacing the fuel...

I did install it myself. I installed a carter fuel pump, electric shutoff valve and a filter. I have a switch in the cab and I pump into the main tank when it gets low. That way I just use the factory fuel gauge. I plumbed it into the top of the factory fuel tank with an overflow back to the auxiliery tank. Doing this also helped with the slow fill of the factory tank.
