Anyone running 40s?
Anyone running 40s?
Just wondering if anybody has 40 inch tires on their truck and how much lift they have and any problems with running 40s. See many guys online with 37s and thats what most people have here in town but i want something different. will 6 suspension/3 body clear? Thanks in advance
6 and 3 should work. There is a guy on here nfsommer, I think, who has done it. I run 40's on stock rims with a extra spacer on my 6" kit, but I've got the adjustable control arms and have them extended a tad bit. But I trimmed my fenders and CAB CORNERS to make them clear. Its the looks that I was after. When I get wider wheels later this year, I'm gonna need more trimming and more lift to make them clear though.
6 inch suspension and 3 inch body would safly clear a set of 38x15.5 meats, if u want 40's id say go kilderman 12 inch air ride lift or a full throttle 10 inch kit to clear 40's with zero trimming and rub.
I dunno i havent heard any pros or cons on the kit but they do make them road armor bumpers has a silver dodge 3500 cewcab long box on 40's, if u go to there site and click on dodges u can see it.
i just finished my body lift tonite. Went way smoother than the first one we did on my buddys truck. I think that a 38.5 should clear nicely. i got a 6" BDS long arm kit with a performance accesories body lift. I will get some pics tommorow and post a link to them so you can see what it will kinda look like.

Here's my 99 with the 6" Kelderman Air Ride (four link rear). It will easily fit 40" tires. These were 35" Procomp Xterrains that I had on it before doing the lift. I ended up going with 39.5" Iroks. I'll check at home for pics I took of it with the 39.5" before selling it.
I've been told before at 4x4 shops that a 3" lift is equal to a 5" suspension lift as far as clearance goes. So add the 6" supsension lift plus the 3" body lift and you should have plenty of room. I've seen 37's on a new dodge with no lift (it rubbed a little on the front aft portion of the fender when offroading).
Body lifts are ghetto. Id look into the 10 inch rock krawler kit if I was your. Full throttle is total junk (almost as bad as whiplash). I also hear the kelderman kint fits like crap. Ive seen it installed on an excursion, the fab shop that put it on said they could have designed a better kit from scratch.
I totally agree .. if I didn't have fabrication skills of my own this kit would have never been installed. Nothing fit the way it was supposed to except for the frame brackets and the front buckets and even after it was installed it didn't work anything like it was supposed to. I invested over $1000 into an air management system similar to a semi just to keep it all leveled correctly because their auto-levels didn't work worth a **** and the guage system is worthless. If I has the option of doing it again I would stay away from Kelderman for the lift kit. I have a RockKrawler in my Jeep TJ and if you want to see a beefy lift kit that you can use and abuse and not come close to breaking, this is the company to go to.
