I agree. Heres a pic of the Rockkrawler kit. There site says its an 8" kit but Nor Cal trucks has it listed as a 10". http://www.norcaltruck.com/dodge-gallery.html

What are the odds that a floating 30% opaque logo would be floating right in the sweet spot of the shot?!?!

That's a nice lookin' truck.

I have the Rock Krawler kit sitting in pieces here waiting for install. It claims to be an 8" but in testing on other trucks the installed height was almost an inch over claimed. Also if you go with the four corner coilovers like I did, it wouldn't be a problem to adjust it a little higher if wanted I am sure. Everything is adjustable. It is the beefiest kit I have ever seen also, short of full on custom. Can't wait to get it in and I'll post pics once it's together. I would also give Don Thuren a vote, if you want something that isn't a kit give him a call, seems like a great guy. BTW that truck pictured looks like it only has the front coilovers, I will try to find one of the other kit, back end is tough.

Ive read the build up of that truck on DTW. Its definately not a simple procedure. I dont think i would want coilovers on the rear of a DD truck. What does that do to the towing capacity?

Wow guys thanks for the replies, I appreciate it! I guess i didn't do enough digging for the bigger lifts for dodges; about all i found was 6" and thats why i was wondering about 3" body. I agree that i would rather have it all suspension and no body lift. I thought i had heard some not-so-great things about full throttle maybe a year or 2 ago but wasn't sure and i was aware that whiplash is basically junk. I searched for full throttle after reading the replies and saw it listed along with whiplash-are they the same? I think i read that they were but maybe not. I do believe ill look at the rock krawler lift as that megacab and mudslingers' truck look real good! Mudslinger-Hows the ride with that kit? I like yours enough i may just go with 37's. Again thanks guys.

Oh wait-that isnt your truck is it Mudslinger? Whos is it? I got looking closer at your sig and the truck pictured...

just out of curiousity has anyone had drive shaft angle issues after getting over the 5" mark. i have heard of a few people saying that this was an issue. the reason i'm asking is because i have the 4.5" fabtech and was thinking about putting the 2" coil spacers on top of that and then add 2" to the rear but was afraid of the angle of the drive shafts mainly the front. the offroad shop says they can put an index ring on the transfer case and that will help with the angle of the shafts.

Well I'm not privileged enough to drive a 3rd gen but.... with 16x10" wheels and 40x15" tires 9" is the minimum IMO, and that is for a street queen. Any decent flex and turning will rub them.
As for a shop telling me that a 3" bodly lift will fit the same tires as a 5" suspension lift, I would not let them even look at my truck. Lift is lift more or less. If the suspension lift was poorly designed and pulled the axle back then maybe yes, but otherwise they will be the same.
Driveshaft angles- 6" is the max I would say can be run without modifications, and still you may have to do a little grinding on the CV joint in the front driveshaft so it doesn't hit itself. Unless you have a carrier bearing on the rear it is pretty good to 10-12". Best thing to do IMO is T-case indexing ring, then high angle driveshaft. If you still have issues you get to rotate the pumpkin on the front axle. Fun!
Well to finish I will say this, if your truck is a DD, do not DO NOT get bias ply tires. Plenty of people have told me that they are not that bad and this and that....well just ask BigBlue or BCSCUMMINS if my statement is right. Real good feeling when someone drives your truck then tells you they never wanna drive it again.

I would love to tell you how it rides, but mine is still in pieces. The tires on that blue rig are actually 38.5x15 intercos' . I emailed him, and he loves the thing, apparently rides great. If he had it to do he would do it again...
I do like the look with the slightly bigger meats. Those Intercos look good and he says there is still room to spare. As far as toying my truck won't see more than a decent size boat or small toy trailer so I am not concerned.

Ive got a bumper pull 24' enclosed that holds all my tools not sure of weight at any given time. I would guess from 14 to 30,000 depending on the job.

Shoooot, load her up. I pull a ski boat in the summer, tandem axle bumper pull, with my 12" drop hitch. Not alot of tounge wieght but it does weigh a little. With the 40's and 3.55's I pull it down the highway at 70 at about 1000*. Nothing but a big hill will get it over 1200*. Any other things, just drop a gear and I'll run 2100rpm at 70 in 4th.

If you were going to tow heavy, I would go the route of the "NorCal" truck above. Order the basic kit with blocks and add-a-leaf, but order a custom set of leafs from Atlas or another good spring shop. Then you would have good towing capacity as well. I was thinking about going that route, but I don't tow heavy(and with big meats don't plan to), and the full race kit looks cool, from what I hear with a ride to match.

Yea i got a little excited and posted before i looked at your sig and the truck and then noticed it wasnt yours...haha oh well! are you putting your lift on now, and if you are when you expect to have it done? After lookin at that truck more, i think i might like the 38.5s more than a 40, it seems to fit the wheel wells nicely. Towing wouldnt be an issue if i lift mine but would surely give me a good reason to get the MegaCab Dually I wish I had gotten!! Keep me updated on yours please and let me know your impressions after the lift...thanks
