Anyone have the 4 1/8" U-bolts left over from their 4" lift?
Anyone have the 4 1/8" U-bolts left over from their 4" lift?
I know that on the Tuff Country 4.5" lift they use 2" blocks for the rear, and the kit comes with both the 3 1/2" and 4 1/8" U-bolts. Does anyone with the AAM10.5 rear axle have their 4 1/8" U-bolts left over? I'm in need of a set! The 2" longer or the 4" longer would work (because I can cut them). Thanks!
I get a lot of my u bolts from Husky Spring. Try a search, there out of Virginia (I think) I've bought add a leaf's from them, u bolts you name it. They make everything from 1/4" up to 2" thick u bolts. Any size, length, bend, they are really good, and not bad on pricing. Check them out or PM me if you want, I really like dealing with them for that kind of stuff. I'm in the same boat, going to lift the front 4.5 inchs and the back 4 inchs, and I don't think the kit bolts will be long enough but that's what I'm doing.
I can get a set of U-bolts from a couple online vendors for about $30 but I figured I'd ask here first since a lot of the kits come with both sizes, and a lot of people here run the 2500 w/ an auto, meaning they have the AAM10.5 rear and should have the larger U-bolts laying around.

I think the 10.5 rear is only if you got the hemi. I know most CTD have the 11.5. Maybe try and find a dodge gasser site and post there, bet you could pick up a set for cheep.
Hmmmm.... I was under the impression that if you had the 2500 and the auto you got the AAM10.5, but if you have the 3500 or the 2500 w/ 6 speed you got the AAM11.5
I should check the Hemi sites though. I'll do that. Thanks for the idea.

Nope...you have a AAM 11.5 period...
Well unless Dodge did something funny. LOL
I have some kicking around somewhere...but shipping would be as much as finding a macine shop local and haveing them built. You may not be able to cut the 4" down...sometimes the threads don't go deep enought.

Well now I know, about the rear axles anyways. I just assumed, and you know what they say about ASSumptions
Looks like I'm gonna just have to suck it up and buy some. I can't spend a month looking around for a set. Seems like every company so far that has what I need (block wise) bends you over for shipping, which is a big pet-peeve for me. $25 to ship two blocks and some U-bolts? Bah!

I wouldn't cry over the shipping of blocks. I ordered some 4 inch blocks from jack it. Came in a little 5 inch by 5 inch by 5 inch box. Weighed in at 40-50 lbs. Those blocks (if iron) are very heavy. I paid 20 bucks to ship but again the weight is what gets you. I do trust iron more than aluminum, that's not to say they won't hold up though.

I just checked UPS and WOWSERS shipping has gone up in the past several months. Guess the high fuel prices really are catching up to us. Oh well, $100 isn't going to put me in the poor house. And the weight of my truck IS resting on these things so I guess I shouldn't cheap out.
I guess it's just the cheaparse in me that doesn't want to pay that much for some chunks of cast iron.
