Anyone with on board air compressor?

I want to build myown air system using a York AC compressor. Has anyone else done this? If so, where did you mount the compressor? I will run one or two 5 gallon tanks. I would just like to hear some opinions and see some current setups if possible. Thank guys.

YOWZER, over 200 bucks for just some brackets and such? I am glad I am building my own brackets. I just wonder if anyone else has built their own system? All the fittings, tanks, switches and such I will pickup from work. I guess my main question is what side to mount it on?

Do you want an engine driven compressor or a pto driven one? We have 2 trucks at work with on-board air systems. The old truck has an engine driven unit and it works ok, but it wont keep up with the 1" drive impacts. The newer truck has a pto driven compressor, and will keep up with the impact and pretty much anything you can run off of all 3 lines. Both trucks have a 28 gallon tank though.

That $285 doesn't seem too bad considering what comes with the kit, and you KNOW it will be true. Brad (Kilby) is a really good guy to work with and he will help you out with anything you need. I have one of his York brackets in my Jeep, but I'm thinking of moving my OBA setup to the truck and just using CO2 in the Jeep since I trailer it anyway.

The more I look under the hood and see that there isnt a lot pf room, the more I think that aint a bad price for that setup. I have the york setup on my rock crawler, but that was easy because the engine had a yor bracket and pulleys already on it. I got two new york compressors sitting in the garage and only need one. How much is one worth to someone that needs one?
