Any pics of a stereo install?

Thinking of putting a new deck in my 04. Anyone have a pic of an aftermarket cd player installed in their truck?

Thanks
Kris

I've got a JVC KD SX980 Mp3 player installed in place of 6 disc player with infinity system.(see photo in my gallery). Nothing in the factory wiring was cut or spliced, but a wiring harness adapter, antenna adapter, and face plate adapter were all needed.

Check my picture gallery. I have a 7" indash Pioneer DVD/Monitor installed. Pretty simple to work on these new trucks.

If you do decide to put a new head unit in, try to get a Metra dash kit. this is by far the nicest kit for the dodge. They fit much better than some of the others. Metra is the biggest kit maker so it should not be hard to find.

Hope this helps.

cem,

I also want to install the DVD player. What unit did you go with? Is it a separate head unit and screen or is it one unit that slips right into the factory din slot?

If you could share a litte more info about what it took to install I'd sure appreciate it.

I went with the Pioneer AVX-7300 DVD in-dash 7" screen and DVD player. I also added the AVM-P8000 "brain" unit. This unit tunes AM/FM, also has input for the XM Satelite Module (which I added) and the CD Changer (which I also added). The unit was simple to install in the dash, I mounted the brain under the driver's seat and the other two pieces under the passenger rear seat behind the storage box. I also added a Fosgate 4 channel amp in the same location under the driver's side rear seat.

I looked at the options of adding two units in the dash but didn't want to hack up my truck. The 7300 is an awsome unit and I bought it on ebay for $550 bucks. Also, I purchased the AVM-p8000 brain unit on ebay for $225 bucks.

Cem,

So do you need the brain unit to be able to listen to the radio, or can you with just the indash unit? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have no experience with car dvd systems.

Thanks
Kris

You do need a brain unit to tune AM/FM or add any other items to the system.
